Launching new pens while ...
I’m a lettering artist and author living in Sweden with a tendency to praise the existence of wine, pets and the color blue. A couple of years ago I took a leap of faith and started my own lettering business despite only having drawn letters for a year or so, and I haven’t looked back since.
That means that I know what it’s like to be an adult beginner – I was 41 before I held my first brush pen – and I still have this immense fascination with ink bleeding into paper fibers, I still get all giddy when trying out new pens and I am in constant awe at what a human hand actually can produce. I know frustration that makes one throw the pens in the bin, only to pick them up a few hours later. I know the satisfaction when it finally turns out okay after hours of trying, over and over. I know the love of hand made letters and what they can bring to a brand’s communication.
All of this, I try to impose (okay, force) on others to the best of my abilities. I post a lot of stuff on instagram, I have a new blog where I’m sharing my tips and tricks, and I teach workshops both irl and online. In here I sell a bunch of stuff with my letters on, but also my favorite tools, pens and paper, and practice sheets to those of you who share my love for drawing letters by hand.
