Faber Castell 11 Pitt Graphite Set

If, like me, you like monochrome, then the Faber Castell 11 Pitt Graphite Set is the perfect set. Here you will find no less than 9 different pencils and graphite pencils, a brush and an eraser, all so you can sketch, draw and paint in gray tones. But what is graphite, you ask? Well, it’s part of pencil lead! If you mix graphite powder with clay powder, you get the essence of a pencil. So there’s no lead in pencil lead (which is good). Graphite is the pure color, you could say, and in this set the graphite pencils have no wood grain.

In terms of hardness, there is hard (H) and black (B) where B is softer and therefore also darker and easier to erase – the higher the number, the harder or blacker.

There is also something as unusual as two pens that are water soluble here – so you can go over the color with a brush and some water to dilute it and create different gradients. What fun!
